Notice on the requirement of entry by foreign nationals holding valid Chinese Residence Permits of three categories
update on Mar 25, 2021

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of passengers, starting from February 06, 2021, all foreign nationals holding valid Chinese Residence Permits of three categories who will take flights from Los Angeles to China, are required to submit the application online and get the confirmation email from the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles before booking flight tickets and taking the nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests. Neither HDC QR Code application nor boarding will be approved for passengers without the confirmation.

Please click here, explain the purpose of your visit to China and upload the copies  of the passport, Chinese Residence Permit as well as other supporting documents.

The Consulate General strongly suggests the foreign nationals currently in China holding the above-mentioned residence permits avoid unnecessary cross-border travel, take the epidemic factors and difficulty in returning to China into consideration before planning to leave China.

This requirement does not apply to Chinese nationals and foreign nationals with Chinese visas issued on and after March 26, 2020.

In addition to the above three categories of residence permit holders, the Chinese government announcement on March 26, 2020 about the temporary suspension of the entry of foreigners holding valid Chinese visas and residence permits is still valid.

The Consulate General once again reminds the public to ensure that "non-essential, non-emergency, no travel ", especially to avoid frequent cross-border travel.
