In order to facilitate deductible contributions on 5·12 Wenchuan Earthquake for donors, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles applied for tax exempt status from Federal Income tax. The Consulate was formally notified recently that the application of tax exempt status has been approved by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under the section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The EIN number is 26-6387620.

From today on, the Consulate will issue tax-deductible receipt for donors. For those who have donated money and request tax exemption, please mail the original receipts to the Consulate in exchange of the tax-deductible receipts. Donor's full name and contact information are kindly requested.
