To media representatives in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii,

The Second Session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) and the Second Session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the People's Republic of China, will open on March 3rd and 5th, 2004 respectively in Beijing. All Chinese and foreign media representatives are welcome to cover the two conferences in Beijing.  

For those who are interested, please submit to the Chinese Consulate: a letter of authorization from the Editor-in-Chief or Executive Director of the Media Organization, a brief introduction of the Media Organization, the biographic notes of the journalist covering the conferences, the arrival time and name of the aircraft, the list of equipments that the media representative will bring to Beijing.

All applications should arrive at the Political & Press Section of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles by March 5th, 2004. Our address is:

A Media Center will be set up in the Hotel of the Great Hall of the People (No. 19 A, Xi Jiao Min Xiang) to receive the media representatives and arrange their coverage. Please call the Media Center at (010) 6607-1188 immediately after you arrive in Beijing. Please bring 2 passport-side photos to the Media Center in order to make a Media Card.
