International Community Continues to Extend Condolences to China over Deadly Mudslides in Zhouqu, Gansu

More foreign leaders have recently sent letters and telegraphs to Chinese leaders, expressing condolences to the Chinese government and people on the rain-triggered mudslides in Zhouqu County in China's northwestern Gansu Province.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y. Thinley, on behalf of the Bhutanese government and people, extended the deepest condolences and the most sincere sympathy to the Chinese government and people over the catastrophe.

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz and Saudi Deputy Prime Minister and crown prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, on behalf of the Saudi government and people, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the Chinese people.

Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Mak-toum, vice president and prime minister, and Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahayan sent the deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the Chinese people.

Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Jassem Mohammed Al-Khorafi sent sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Chinese people and wished those injured a quick recovery.

President of Japan's House of Councilors, Takeo Nishioka, and Speaker of Japan's House of Representatives, Takahiro Yokomichi, conveyed their sincere condolences to the people affected, hoping that the mudslides-hit area could be rebuilt at an early date.

Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, on behalf of his government and people, sent heartfelt condolences to the Chinese government.

Cameroonian President Paul Biya expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and the Chinese people on behalf of the Cameroonian people.

President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Joseph Kabila Kabange sent his condolences to the people affected, hoping that the Chinese people could overcome the difficulties soon.

Ethiopian President Girma Wolde Giorgis, on behalf of his government and people, sent deep sympathies to the Chinese government and people. He said he believed that the Chinese people could certainly overcome the difficulties.

Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade sent his profound condolences to the families of the victims and the Chinese people.

Mozambican President Armando Guebuza, on behalf of his government and people, sent sincere condolences to the Chinese government and people and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families, wishing that the injured could recover soon.

President of the National Assembly of Comoros Bourhane Hamidou extended sincere condolences and profound sympathy to the people in the disaster area, expressing belief that the Chinese government will conquer the disaster soon.

Prime Minister of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera expressed condolences to China on behalf of his government and people.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych conveyed profound condolences to the families of the victims and sincere sympathy to the injured on behalf of the Ukrainian people.

President of the Kyrgyz Interim Government Roza Otunbayeva expressed sincere sympathy to the relatives of the victims on behalf of her people. She wished that the injured could get well soon.

Slovakian President Ivan Gashparovic and Prime Minister Iveta Radicova expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Chinese side over the mudslides.

Slovenian President Danilo Turk and Prime Minister Borut Pahor conveyed sincere condolences to China.

Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen, on behalf of the Danish government and people, conveyed the deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and expressed his country's support to China's rescue and relief efforts in the affected region.

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, on behalf of his government, expressed sympathy and sincere solicitude to the Chinese side.

Moldovan President Mihai Ghimpu expressed profound condolences and sincere sympathy to the Chinese people over the disaster on behalf of the Moldovan people.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Polish Parliament Grzegorz Schetyna sent the most sincere condolences to China and profound sympathy to the relatives of the victims, wishing those injured a quick recovery.
